Everyone loves comments, but no one likes a spammer. If you've been bogged down by spammers, we've got great news for you. This afternoon our developers just rolled out a bunch of behind-the-scenes spam prevention. We now automatically kick spammy comments to the curb and do not send out email notifications. The best part is you don't have to do anything. If you want to see the comments we're stopping, just click on the Spam tab in your comment management tool. If something gets stuck there on accident, you can always publish it on your own.
The new default should catch a majority of the spammy comments. However, we know that some of you want even stronger protection. Because of this, we're also happy to offer another level of spam prevention. If you find that spammy comments are still going through, go to your blog settings, and check the "Enable strong spam filtering" box.

If you've been following our Twitter or Facebook accounts, you'll know that we've been working on an easy way to add sharing widgets to your site.
After a few weeks of rigorous testing, you'll be thrilled to hear that they're now available! If you're using a featured OnSugar theme, the sharing widgets will be automatically turned on. (You can easily turn them off in your blog settings.)
Note: If you're using your own theme, there's a just a few simple pieces of code that you will need to add.
To find out all the details, check out our Sharing Widgets FAQ.
Over the past few months, we've done some behind the scenes magic to help improve search engine optimization (that's the stuff that gets your blog noticed by places like Google and Bing). We were already proud of our results, but knew we could find ways to make things even better.
Most of our enhancements won't affect your everyday blogging life (like I said, it's behind the scenes), but we did add a few tools for you to help boost your own results.

We're doing some spring cleaning around here, and one of the things we've polished up is our video player. Now when you upload videos, you'll find a fancy new player on the other end. Our new video player is 550px wide, has a much nicer resolution, and is a lot clearer than our old player. That said, I expect all of you to start uploading more videos. Especially considering the fact that you can even email them in from your phone!
Here's an example of a video taken via iPhone and uploaded through the new player:

A few weeks ago, I told you all about our newly revamped ShopSense program. In case you missed it, we enhanced our program to introduce new ad units, and easy widgets. And while it's simple to use -- just copy and paste the code into your site -- we thought we could do better than that. I'm happy to announce that ShopSense ads are now fully integrated into OnSugar. This means that you can now just check a box, or add a widget, and ShopSense ads will automatically show up. The best part is that they're automatically linked to your ShopSense account! No more cutting and pasting of code, or messing with themes. You can start making money in just a few clicks! Find out how to turn ShopSense ads on.
Some of you are so flipping proud to be part of our community (which we love!) that you've asked us to create images you could use on your site. Well instead of only providing images and code, we went one step further and built a widget that will add one to your sidebar automatically.
To access the new badges click on "Widgets" in your "Blog Options" dropdown menu. Next click on "Powered By OnSugar" in the left-hand column. When the popup happens you'll have a few things to choose from.
- First decide what size you want to use (160x90 or 200x125).
- Next choose between a dark or light badge.
- Now decide if you want "Powered By" or "Proudly Published"
- And finally, select if you want to display a start button or not.
Once you make your options, the badge will automatically show up on your site. You can move its spot in your widget column by dragging it to the correct location.
Here's a full gallery of all the different options. And, if you want to add these the old fashioned way, you'll find that each caption has code you can cut and paste directly onto your site.
