This week the team made some changes to our email notifications. Prior to today, you could only receive individual email notifications. Now members can choose between individual emails, a daily digest email, or both.
If you choose Daily Digest, this means that instead of receiving an email each time a site you’re following posts, you’ll receive a roundup at the end of the day. This roundup will contain links to all posts created by sites you follow.
To do so, click on “Edit Profile” in the dropdown menu. Next click on the “Notifications” tab. Here you’ll see the settings.
Each site you follow has its own setting. This means you can mix and match settings, receiving some as they happen (ASAP), others at the end of the day (Daily Digest), or some with no notifications at all.
Just in time for Christmas, we’re releasing some new ‘wrapping’. Theme customization is now available on thirteen of our most popular themes. You can change colors, fonts, add your own header and more. We decked out the OnSugar blog in a matter of minutes.
To customize your own theme, go to your site menu, click "Themes", then set your blog to one of the featured themes with the “customizable” banner. Next head over to the the “Active” tab where you’ll see all the customization options for that theme.
Different themes have different customization options, so be sure to check out each one. We plan on rolling out more customized themes, so let us know what you’d like to see.
As some of you have noticed, there have been a lot of new additions to the layout tool, some of which I've highlighted above. In the coming weeks, we'll launch even more features. Stay tuned!
We are very proud to announce the launch of ShopSense. With ShopSense, you can get paid for the traffic you send retailers when you feature ShopStyle products, links and widgets on your site. There’s no code to download or special steps to take. As an OnSugar user, all you need to do is register your account and start blogging. Use the image uploader to access ShopStyle’s catalog of over 500,000 products, then find your favorites and select images and captions to add to your post. It’s that simple.
There are tons of ways to integrate ShopSense into your blogs. We've already seen some amazing layouts on the network. You can also add custom widgets to your site and get paid for those clicks as well. Learn more about ShopSense here.
To register your account and get started, click on “ShopSense” on your user dropdown menu.
We want to hear what you think! If there’s something you’d like to know about or see on ShopSense, drop us a line.
You asked, we built. It's now easy to publish and manage two widget sidebars on your OnSugar blog. To check it out, go to your widget management page. You'll notice there are two column under the active tab. Toggle between the two to add widgets to each.
There are currently seven featured themes that work with the new three column format, but we’re adding more all the time. Have a three column theme you'd like to see OnSugar? Let me know.
Did you just see the craziest thing on your morning commute and wish you could've blogged about it right there and then? Well now you can.
This week our development team unveiled our new post by email feature. Now you can post from your email equipped phone, or — and of course we don't actually endorse this — publish brilliant posts under the guise of composing work email.
To get started click on "Edit Profile" in the drop down menu. To learn more about posting by email, visit our help blog.
I should also mention that this featured was developed because many of you asked for it. So if you have other ideas for us, be sure to send them our way.

When our pal Eppie22 started posting her OnSugar posts to her Facebook account, we all thought it was great, but admitted that we were too lazy to do the same. To remedy our laziness, our dev team came up with two new great features. Now you can automatically update either your Facebook or your Twitter statuses whenever you post something to OnSugar.
To do so, just click on "Edit Profile" in the drop down menu on the top. Once there you can click on the Facebook or Twitter icons and fill in your information. In just a few short clicks, whenever you create a new post on OnSugar, you'll create a status update on Facebook or Twitter.
Wish you had more followers? You can now click "Invite Friends" in your site dropdown menu, and easily invite folks to check out your blog. Let friends and family know all about your life, including that corn dog you ate last night.
We’ve also added a "navigation alert". This means that instead of losing a post when you accidently navigate away, you'll now receive an alert message asking if you’d like to save your post. Remember, if you're not ready to publish just then, you can always save your post as a draft and come back to it later. Just click on "Advance Options" beneath your post and select "Save as draft." A link to your posts and drafts page is in your site dropdown menu.
We've got more tricks up our sleeves, so stay tuned. And if you want us to add something sooner, drop us a line!
Thanks to everyone who's given us such great feedback. We're planning to implement bug fixes and add new features each week. If there's something you'd like to see, or a problem that you've encountered, let us know. We really do like hearing what you think.
Here's the rundown of our latest release:
If you've been looking for an easy way for readers to subscribe to your blog feed, use the Your RSS Feed Widget. We've also placed an RSS feed link in the footer of all featured themes.
We added a fast link to access all of your entries of a certain post type. Go to your site and add "/POSTTYPE" to the end of your blog url. For example, if you wanted to see all quote posts on Fashionologie, you'd type http://www.fashionologie.com/quotes . (Just make sure the post type is plural: texts, galleries, polls, quizes, quotes, links, chats, videos, audios).
Finally, we created a Sites I Follow Widget that displays the sites you follow. Now your friends know which sites you're checking out.
Want us to add something sooner? Drop us a line! The more people who ask for something, the higher up the priority list it goes, so let us know what you're looking for.
