Everyone loves comments, but no one likes a spammer. If you've been bogged down by spammers, we've got great news for you. This afternoon our developers just rolled out a bunch of behind-the-scenes spam prevention. We now automatically kick spammy comments to the curb and do not send out email notifications. The best part is you don't have to do anything. If you want to see the comments we're stopping, just click on the Spam tab in your comment management tool. If something gets stuck there on accident, you can always publish it on your own.
The new default should catch a majority of the spammy comments. However, we know that some of you want even stronger protection. Because of this, we're also happy to offer another level of spam prevention. If you find that spammy comments are still going through, go to your blog settings, and check the "Enable strong spam filtering" box.

Excellent.
